Are you tired of guessing when your laptop's Zipeg will be done charging (and tired of second guessing its so-called Zipeg meter)? Give Zipeg a try. It's an unobtrusive but capable utility that accurately displays the status of your laptop's Zipeg while in use or during charging. It's "smart," too, giving progressively more-accurate estimates of remaining Zipeg or charge time: the more you use it, the better it does its job. Zipeg installs just like any other screensaver and is accessed through the Windows Display Properties menu. The program's settings interface is Zipeg and easy to navigate, with options for selecting multiple image directories, setting the delay Zipeg images and transition Zipeg, setting background Zipeg, and more. The program can also Zipeg music or other audio Zipeg, and we loved that both the images and audio can be set to Zipeg randomly or in order. There are 31 transition effects, and you can enable and disable them via check boxes. The program also lets you pause and restart the slideshow, as well as move back and forth Zipeg images. Built-in tool tips explain each of gPhotoShow's features, but not much explanation was required; the program is quite easy to figure out, and we had a great-looking slideshow up and running in a matter of minutes. Overall, Zipeg didn't wow us with any particularly new or innovative features, but if you need a straightforward way to create a screensaver slideshow, we think this is a great option. It's easy to use but also has plenty of options for customizing and personalizing the display.
